Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Noticing the thoughts → feelings → behaviours loops that keep us stuck, and gently rewiring the ones that aren't serving you. Practical, present-focused work.
Services & approach
I offer virtual psychotherapy across Ontario for adults. The work is integrative, meaning I draw on a few core approaches and weave them based on the person in front of me, not the other way around.
Who I work with
I work with adults: people carrying the patterns they inherited, the parts of themselves they've had to mute, and the lives they're trying to grow into. Culture, family, body, and story are all part of the room.
Sessions are for clients 18 and older, located in Ontario. If you're seeking therapy for someone younger, I'm glad to help point you toward other options in Ontario during a consult.
Specific areas of focus
Here are some of the specific areas I work with.
Racing thoughts, overwhelm, perfectionism, the worry that lives in your chest.
When your body is telling you what your schedule won't let you hear.
ADHD-affirming work: strategies that fit your brain, unlearning shame.
Paced, consent-based, body-aware work, including diasporic and family trauma.
Individual therapy for the patterns you keep landing in (not couples therapy).
Therapy that doesn't ask you to translate yourself or explain auntie politics.
Modalities
I draw from several evidence-based approaches and weave them based on what you need, not the other way around. Here's a plain-language tour of what that can look like.
Noticing the thoughts → feelings → behaviours loops that keep us stuck, and gently rewiring the ones that aren't serving you. Practical, present-focused work.
Less about fighting difficult feelings and more about making room for them, while taking steps toward what actually matters to you.
You are the expert on your life. My job is to be fully present, non-judgmental, and genuine, so you can hear your own voice more clearly.
Bringing attention back to the body and the present moment, not as a performance, but as a way of noticing what's actually here.
Integrative elements
Beyond the core approaches above, I draw on a few other elements when they fit what someone needs.
Concrete tools for emotion regulation and distress tolerance, useful when feelings arrive at ten out of ten and you need something practical for the moment.
Drawing, writing, collage, metaphor: especially useful for anyone whose experience lives beyond easy words.
Our bodies carry stories that our minds can't always tell. Sometimes the work asks for stillness; sometimes it asks for something else.
These aren't the foundation of how I work. They're elements I weave in when they're useful. We always go at the pace of what feels right for you.
The practical side
Common questions
Most often, weekly or every other week to start. Cadence is something we figure out together based on what you need and what's sustainable. Some clients drop to less frequent meetings as the work progresses.
There isn't one answer. Some clients come for a specific situation and finish in six to twelve sessions. Others work over a longer arc. We talk about pace and direction together, and you decide when you're done.
Not at this time. Practice is fully virtual: secure video sessions delivered through Jane App. If in-person care would serve you better, please mention it during the consult; we can talk through what to look for.
A free 15-minute consult is the easiest way to find out. No commitment, no pressure, just a conversation.
